Beautiful shot of fruit and leaves. Definitely a persimmon which brings back memories of my grandparents having a tree like this. As a child I didn’t like the fruit–sort of tart and ‘puckery’

That does not look like any persimmon I ever saw, but it does look exactly like a medlar (Mespilus germanica). Take a look at other medlar photos on the Internet, and I think you will find them very much the same.

Turns out it is a medlar not a persimmon. Google the images and you can see.
