Raindrops on Lily in Dorothy’s Garden
The gray and rain prevented me from photographing all of Dorothy’s beautiful garden for her family. She tended it so well. The blueberries ripening, a giant broccoli ready to cut. New lettuces. And the tomatoes have really shot up. As I was leaving, the vibrant orange stood out amongst the greens. I am certain there is a special name for this flower. Dorothy kept the tags and seed packets of what she planted in her garden, for future reference,

This looks so beautiful, bright, and fresh – with that gorgeous Lily, big raindrops, buds ready to open, variation in the green leaves — a special piece of your friend Dorothy’s garden! Lovely photo, Ruth!

Wonderful shot of the tiger lily. And the poem made me feel as if I were in Dorothy’s garden again. Thanks.

Dorothy loved your visits, Ruth. I knew about the berries on Greek yogurt. She was so pleased with your choice of the Warhol-like pictures of her on the cover of her last book of poetry.

We call that a wild day lily here on the mountain where they do grow wild. It’s one of the few lillies that the deer don’t eat.

Beautiful! I love how the daylillies are so vibrant and it looks like they’re having a good drink!

You will always find the people you loved in the things they loved most. Dorthy would have loved this photo. Thanks for sharing Ruth.

A very beautiful photograph. I have this as my backdrop on my work computer to remind me of her friends who loved her.

Lovely post. From the foliage, this looks like a lily, not a daylily–even though the color is like a daylily. Most lilies hang their heads down, so it might be a “stargazer.” Or maybe it was just looking upward, looking for Dorothy.
