Back of my neck feeling dirty and gritty.
This is a photograph without a caption other than waiting. One of my self-assignments is to experience more street photography this summer.
Taken with a 100-300mm Canon lens. The old lightweight one. Bought it used for $150 at the Camera Repair store.
Shot through the driver’s side glass when I was at a red light. I think I was spotted.
Used the 70-200mm lens on my Canon 5D Mark ll.
I had to take the 5D into the Camera Repair Shop on Market Street.
One thing when I take a shot like this, I realize I’m not a persistent or aggressive or even comfortable street photographer.
I remained unnoticed and now wish I had taken more angles as I think about it in retrospect.
One certainly wouldn’t want to interrupt the intense concentration.
Photographed last June when I visited my sister.
Mango Vendors on the sidewalks of New York City.
And here is a link to an article Fruit of her labor is to put kids through college by Roslyn Kramer
New York City street shot from when I visited my sister last June.
I was photographing people engaged with their technology- they weren’t paying any attention to me or my camera I think this woman was trying to get into the shade a bit to see her phone screen, reduce the glare.
Thoughts on style…………decorating, home, fashion, hair, writing-
What’s in style these days?
Have you ever been out of style?
Did you ever cramp anyone’s style?
Do you know anyone whose style is stuck in another decade? or maybe their style is making a comeback?
Who decides what’s in style or out of style?
What is your style?
Corey is filming his cousin Michael and his brother Justin is resting up for his ride. Watched this effort for awhile. They used to skateboard. I talked to them and asked if I could put them on the blog.
And now it is Justin’s turn

Seems everyone is on some sort of device.

Good thing it isn’t the Sunday Times
Seaside FL (no I am not there now, from the archives) You know how difficult I find street photography. These women didn’t notice me and my camera. Here’s what I saw……
A couple of women and some crochet cotton, one stitching as fast as she could. The one looks like she’s holding something that is being undone and recrocheted by the woman on the right. The line of thread between the two looks like it was just unraveled from having been stitched previously.
I wish I’d asked what the story was, what she was making. And why right there on the sidewalk? Standing up?
Someone just recommended to me that I try to knit standing up, be easier on my neck, and I thought, impossible. I was in FL a couple of years ago with good friends Shuey and Connie and we were touring around, seeing where the Truman Show was filmed and the market with the most jams and preserves I’ve ever seen, floor to ceiling.
My friend Joyce is really good at street photography. I feel self-conscious and awkward a lot of the time. I shot this man purchasing a pickle from one of the barrels. I haven’t seen a pickle vendor on the street before although I did see someone deep fry a pickle at the Ohio State Fair.
