Washington Parting Shot

Mary suggested this one. The cherry with a tiny leaf still attached on it. Farewell Washington.  We live so far apart and it isn’t an easy trip to make often.  We miss David but feel fortunate to had such a loving and happy relaxed time together.  When you tell someone you are just back from Washington they ask if you made it to the exhibit at the Corcoran and then you have to explain it is Washington STATE.  Washington head silhouettes on all the road signs.  I will have to research the history of how the state got named.

Washington cherry on Mac.
Now it is computer and phone communication from WA to PA and NYC.

  1. I think you just have to say Washington State to begin with. Like New York State instead of NYC

  2. Yep – it’s time to get back to the old routine but don’t you just love the smell and excitement of all those bright cheery faces greeting you each morning? I can just hear your creative juices flowing whether it’s from NYC or NY State or Washington, DC (I usually just say DC) and Washington State where Jonathan has been at Ft. Lewis.

  3. I lived in Rochester, New York for quite awhile and had the same experience. The other thing people seem to not understand is that is a good deal of New York not populated by excessively tall buildings…

  4. …and now a comment about Washington. I lived in Washington, D.C. three times and usually referred to it just as D.C.
Of course, there is Washington, Virginia and Washington, Pennsylvania. thrown in to make things more interesting.
