American Cancer Society Daffodil Days. I bought two bunches at Ft. Pitt. I just read that in parts of Canada you receive a daffodil pin instead of flowers these days cause the flowers are too expensive and difficult to transport. I am lucky that bunches of the fresh flowers are what you receive for your donation here in Pittsburgh. The promise of Spring. Indoors and out!

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced, but they
Out-did the sparkling leaves in glee;
A poet could not be but gay,
In such a jocund company!
I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
Whole Food has bunches that look like these, called “Field Daffodils,” but no info on the “field!!” They have helped me “GET Happy” all week. At some point I remembered this poem, which I had to memorize for school ….did pretty well except for about 6 lines in the middle and the word “pleasure” in the last line. I had “and then my heart within me fills and dances with the daffodils.” Thank you for the PLEASURE of you whole post today!!!! XXOXOX

“Lavender’s blue dilly dilly” too and I saw little blue flowers in my neighbor’s yard…Really exciting…
