I can remember my mother telling how the only CD she knew about was a Certificate of Deposit. Witness and sacrifice are apt words you chose to describe that generation. Thank you.
My mother was born on April 11, 1912, and my daddy was born on October 25, 1908! I miss them. I know you miss yours too.

Love the tribute. A handsome man. Family’s are the reason we are here and the foundation of who we are today. Their bodily presence may be gone but their presence is never gone from our mind and hearts. Happy Remembrance Day of your father’s life.
I will never forget his visits to our home. He (and your mother) made such an impression on me and Mary. It was obvious that he loved his family, loved life and loved God. What a great example for all of us. Though he is missed by so many we are thankful for such great memories of such a wonderful person.
Ruth – thanks for reminding us all of your wonderful father! I remember most his trip to our house in Virginia at the time coming to bless Jennifer as she lay dying. Since your father and mother lost a child (John), he knew some of the agony we were going through. However, now your mother and father are both with him in Heaven (with Jennifer, too!). Happy 100th birthday to your loving dad!

A treasure trove of memories…..And, they remind me of the small amount of time (if we are lucky) we have on this planet. My mother came from 8 children, there are only two left and they were the youngest in the family, twins a boy and a girl, they are both now in their 78th year, I am in my 71st year and I thank God for every day.
Happy birthday to your Dad Ruth, he looks like a wonderful person, and looks don’t lie.
My condolences on the loss of your Father. My Father passed away in September of 2010 and the loss is still deeply felt. I don’t think it ever goes away completely.
Your Father was a very handsome, kind-looking person. If the beautiful lady sitting on the couch next to your Father was your Mother… you sure resemble your Mother.

Very nice. I once restored about 300 photos for a family member as a christmas gift. It was one of the best gifts I ever gave, as well as rewarding.
