Invitational Meet in Schenley Park on Sept 7th. Not sure what team. just liked the pony tails a-flying as they warmed up. (Only one reference found to “a-flying” usage like asleep) Anyone say it?
Fabulous pic, so full of energy. I like the “pony tails a-flying.” It reminded me of Lord Byron’s poem,
“So, we’ll go no more a roving
So late into the night,
Though the heart be still as loving,
And the moon be still as bright.”
Don’t know about the usage, but it sounds good to me. And it perfectly describes the picture.

“A-flyin'” is a southern thing. Goes with “a-waggin'” (like “That dog’s tail was a-waggin’!”) and other a-verb combos. Cool pic!
