Hopefully not my nerves or the rope
I hang onto with my best grip.
I sleep with the comfort of the worn red calico and
yellowed muslin quilt my grandmother stitched decades ago.
. I told my friend V what the photo challenge word of the week was and she said,
“Fray? That’s an easy one. You start school Monday.”
Hope you have an excellent school year. Enjoy your weekend. Thinking of you.
Thanks Erin. I enjoy seeing your beautiful family photos.
Your grandmother and I share the same birthday. Have a great year. Try to stay above the fray!
Staying above is better than jumping in. Good thoughts. Thanks Kristin.
How wonderful to have your grandmother’s quilt and all of the warm memories attached to it! A new group of lucky students who will grow in the warmth of your classroom – wishing you a great year, Ruth!
Thanks for your good wishes and supportive thoughts, Ellen. Know you are enjoying your grandchildren.
Another opportunity to touch young minds and give them a class / outlet for creativity. Have a good school year.
Yes an outlet for creativity. So necessary. Thanks Connie.
I have a quilt my great aunt made and it is starting to tatter and fray also. Finding it hard to part with it. Your classroom is nicely polished and ready to greet the troops on Monday. Have a wonderful year!
Thank you for the good wishes for a wonderful school year 🙂
You look ready – have a great year!
Appearances can be deceiving, Sue. 🙂
Your classroom looks great, but I’d like to see a follow-up photo of it full of students and you in the fray.
Now that will be a winning shot for sure. Thanks for the idea.
Love the blanket !! perfect Ruth.I hope you have a great year!
Thanks Kathryn. Loved your pick up sticks. I can’t remember our family having a set but I remember them from somewhere. Very retro.
Thanks Ruth! Mine were plastic when I was a child!
Wood as I remember
I love these old quilts too, such bold colours, nothing wasted. Your classroom chairs and tables look great. All ready to go. I used to so enjoy the beginning of the year when i was teaching. All that potential and all those plans. Have fun.. c
