This is Brooke, a Dachshund Rescue. I saw her in a basket in the Waterworkds Shopping Center at the PetCo a few years back and I knew my friend’s daughter wanted a dachshund. It was a lucky day.
She belongs to Molly now. You can see how Brooke loves “her person”.
I know some of my cousins favor dachshunds and Mary in New Jersey loves them.
Molly’s family always has liked this breed. I saw a crazy video of dachshunds on a Sausage Dogs Central Post on FB just last week.
Now my DIL and her family love Airedales. Jaclyn has her St. Bernards. One type of dog I don’t see around here is an Irish Setter. Be it Border Collies or Italian Greyhounds, German Shepherds or a Pug or you name it. People who are dog people may have a strong preference. ( Rob, I know what your preference is! NO DOG)
Some families like to get a mixed breed rescue (we used to call them mutts but maybe that isn’t the term now) from an animal shelter.
I usually keep the blog in “real time” but the rose colored couch is highlighted again this week.
BTW there are “339 listed breeds in 10 groups” and if you want to check out that info it is here
It looks like she is smiling to me
Love.
She looks great posing on the pink couch. They have very similar silhouettes.
Sweet!
I’m with Rob – no dog! But, Brooke is one cute dog.
I think rescue animals make the best pets. They are so appreciative. I have had several rescue animals in my life, of course, Magi, a horse I had, tops the list and still (and always will) owns a piece of my heart.

She is such a cutie Ruth and beautiful shots of here as well. I do prefer the mixed breeds. 😀
Unconditional love
I love dachshunds. They are little dogs with big personalities. we used to have a wire haired one, Beccie Brown Boots. But I struggle to say what my favourite breed is. I love Black Labradors, German Shepherds, Staffies, Collies, Cairns, mongrels… Basically, i just love dogs
Our two boys are the first ‘pure’ breeds I personally have ever had. My favorite breed is any loving soul that needs a home. 🙂
