Thought it was a great idea.
Drivers today are so impatient.
It’s good to know that someone in front of you is learning how to drive.
A woman came out of the store and said.”Why is she taking a picture of my car?”
I told her I wanted to remember her good idea for when my grandchildren are learning to drive. I assured her I didn’t take her license plate number.
She said the sign on the car really works. We had a nice conversation about it.
You don’t have L or P plates in the US?
Perhaps it varies by state but I’m not aware of them in Pennsylvania or Ohio
I have lived in several US states, and have never seen that designation. It’s a great idea though!
That brought back happy memories for me! When my dad was teaching me to drive …hmm … many years ago he insisted on putting a sign exactly like the one in your photo in his car so other drivers would know I was just learning 🙂
Like your reflection taking the photo!! This car has a rear windshield wiper ….. an “accessory” I long for, esp in the Winter! 🙂
HAPPY SUMMER SOLSTICE!
When I was teaching my children to drive I warned them not to pay attention to drivers who were impatient with them because they were too old to remember when they were learning. I love the sign.
Great advice!
It is a good idea. In Britain new drivers have a sign with a big red “L” that means “learner.” The first time I drove over there, using a stick shift, driving on the opposite side of the car and the opposite side of the road, I put one up in the back window of our rental car.
You are a BRAVE soul! I would have surrendered at “driving a stick shift”. 🙂
I had to do all the driving because my husband never learned to drive a stick shift, and it costs twice as much to rent an automatic over there. I remember stalling the car on a switchback on a steep narrow road in the Lake District, as a shepherd drove a herd of sheep down the road all around us. THAT was a little tense! But I’m originally from the The Motor City, and as soon as we were clear of the sheep, I popped that clutch and we were back in business!
Great story Naomi. Thanks for your visits and good words on the blog
You sound spunky! I like it. 🙂
If you hit me on the right day, that is, but not in the car, please!
