There Were Years When My Decorations Stayed Up

There were years when my Christmas decorations stayed up in my front hall for months. The straw roofed manger on the dining room mantle ALL year with the olive wood figurines – the garland hung passed Epiphany, passed Chinese New Year, passed Groundhog’s, passed Valentine’s. Don’t think I ever added Easter eggs to the fake evergreen boughs in my front hallway, though.

So when I drove by this today (February 6th) I was reminded of my leaving holiday decor up long after the Christmas season.

  2. We had our tree up for over a month. Our wreath is still hanging outside. We are not lighting it at night. Some people on our street still light their outside lights. If the people in your photos are following the tradition of leaving their manger and decorations up til Candlemas then they are only a few days late. Something tells me that they just haven’t got too them as of yet.

  3. That’s a beautiful manger scene! My porch wreath is still up and lights on 24/7!!:-) Maybe I’ll decide to take it down next wednesday which is Valentine’s Day AND Ash Wednesday!! XoX

  4. Our Christmas tree is still up (it’s artificial, but still…). Maybe we will take it down in time for Easter…?

Thanks for your visit. It's always good to hear you stopped by.
