Happy Groundhog Day.
My granddaughter Maura has predicted six more weeks of winter prior to Punxsutawney Phil the Groundhog.
We’ll know at sunrise if she’s right.
The movie starts at 7:30 PM at The Oaks Theater in Oakmont PA
Laura and Charlie called earlier to wish me a Happy Groundhog Eve.
You might remember my post of Woodstock Illinois where the movie was filmed or the post where Mary Laura and I ventured to Punxsutawney to see Phil at sunrise.
You can see my Groundhog Compendium here

I always look forward to your Groundhog Day blog!!! It would be fun to see the movie again in a theater!!!
XOXO
The post on ‘six more weeks of winter’ could not be found. Was it this one? I am not sure.
Peter, the six more weeks of winter was the info my sister got from looking out the window and seeing sunshine, Not the official groundhog Phil of Punxsutawney. He said there will be an early Spring. SO I was going to post “accurate” information but did not get to it. HA. I saw a photo of a groundhog holding a sign It said I’m a rodent, not a meteorologist! “if Candlemas be fair and clear there be two winters in the year” I apologize for the confusion
Very interesting additional information on the ground hog!
As the song goes “little groundhog in the ground, pop your head up look around. Etc. (sung to twinkle little star tune). Happy Groundhog Day Ruth E!
A former coworker of mine always made a cinnamon bundt cake for Groundhog Day, and placed a little stuffed animal in the center. It was a lovely way to celebrate. 🙂
I have a groundhog cookie cutter and used to bake groundhogs with a currant eye.
Ha – love it!
I like the little Candlemas rhyme.
Who knows how old it is. Thanks for your visit snd comment
