A poppy made by Disabled Veterans, was lying in a parking lot last Wednesday.
I picked it up and put it in the car. It felt out of season for the Poppy Sales and I don’t know how long it’s been lying there.
But I couldn’t leave it, abandoned.

I haven’t seen one of those in ages.
An out of the blue reminder of the true cost of freedom in America and elsewhere. Surely there is a reason for your find. Maybe a special prayer veterans is needed today.
^ this. A moment to pause, reflect, remember.
I am so glad you picked up the abandoned poppy, Ruth.
Amazing how that thin, flimsy paper still looks new. Just shows those poppies are never out of season!
