Be Kind and Sport a Cardigan November 13th

World Kindness Day is Wednesday November 13.

Wear your cardigans for World Kindness Day  article in Tribune Review by Shirley McMarlin and remember Mr. Fred Rogers who exhibited acts of kindness as a way of life.  And wore cardigan sweaters on his television show.

Here’s what Mr. Rogers said about his mother making his sweaters.

“She makes sweaters for many different people,” he told the camera, after showing a picture of his mom and pointing out the intricate details in each piece. “But, that’s one of the ways that she has of saying that she loves somebody.”   from article by Samantha Sutton  In Style Magazine

  1. Mam knit countless sweaters and cardigans in her years. I used to be able to manage the smaller things. Nowadays I stick to trying to be kind 🙂 🙂 Have a nice day, Ruth!

  2. This AM it is 31 degrees in the Florida Panhandle. A day for a cozy cardigan and hot tea.

  3. Kindness is key. Mr. R knew it and taught it well. We appreciate it more as we get older and can use a little gentility.

  4. Touching post, Ruth, brought back lots of memories of Michelle dancing to Mr Roger records.

  5. I am always so proud when I get to help a friend work on Mr. Rogers each year.He was all about Tikun Olam (taking care of the world) translated also as random acts of kindness.

  6. Ruth,
Thanks for this post. I wore a cardigan that I bought at the Fair in the Park, made by a woman who is 1/2 Irish and 1/2 English. Also, I saw you at the Jan Beatty reading. I sat behind you and meant to say HI, but got distracted by other audience members.
