Waiting at the Railroad Crossing in Ohio
Gates down, red lights flash, bells clang- the freight train rolls by. Count the cars, kids! Long trains in Ohio. Lots of cars. Sit and wait.

I cross the train tracks every day on my way to work and I feel like they only come when I am running late

We probably spend half our lives waiting

I love the sound of the trains that we hear going through Homestead. Their location is just distant enough from our house, that it is mellow and not at all bothersome. We usually hear the trains when going to sleep or waking up – pleasant sounds. The rest of the day, we hardly notice!
I also like riding the trains through Europe. But then, I’m not the one who is waiting for the train to pass!!!

One time in Roanoke there were 103 cars that passed. I bet the boys liked watching the train.

Reminds me of the trains in Manassas. I enjoyed your poem.
