Baked Mushroom Ravioli in Tomato Sauce

Friday night in winter supper.

Found a tray of a dozen mushroom ravioli in the freezer and a big glass jar of Labriola’s Italian Grocery Marinara Sauce on the pantry shelf. Sprinkled some Parmesan on top when I served up the dishes.

I poured half the sauce in a 10×13 glass baking dish, placed the frozen ravioli in sauce, put about a 1/3 c water in rest of sauce in the jar and whirl around a bit. Poured over the ravioli. Covered with aluminum foil. Baked at 350 for 45 minutes. Perfect.

After being away almost two weeks I definitely need to get to the store with a long list but managed to wait another day to avoid going out in the freezing cold. Will add something green to our menu tomorrow. It was a night of comfort food.

Forgotten Lemon. Two Views

I was away for two weeks with family. Today I found a forgotten lemon on the counter. The ones in the fridge look fine. Perhaps I took it out of the fridge to cut and squeeze the juice but forgot? It’s dehydrated and caved, no rotting smell, I thought about slicing it open but I’d already pitched it after I photographed it before I thought of that.

Here’s what Created the Scarlet Path of Light

Silent Sunday’s Post was a red (correction SCARLET)path of light reflected onto the sidewalk at Ohio State University campus. Today I photographed what created the path of light from yesterday’s post.

“Not only was the RPAC (Recreation Physical Activity Center) a landmark but it is notorious for its “Scarlet Walkway” connection the RPAC to the Physical Activity and Education Services building.  The walkway adds a flow to building that allows students to go between the buildings without having to cause chaos on the sidewalks.  The Scarlet walkway adds continuality to the façade of both buildings.”

I’ll admit, I didn’t know who Chuck Taylor was

I’ve heard his name for years but never bothered to find out who he was.  The first athlete endorsed shoes- Since 1922, Chuck Taylor’s  high top basketball shoes by Converse have been popular. I’d heard people refer to wearing their “chucks”.

Here’s a blogpost link to see  his photo and a book about Chuck Taylor

Today my grandson Jack and I went shoe shopping for his upcoming birthday (soon to be 13). He asked for these classic shoes and after we bought them, he wore them home. In 1921 Charles “Chuck” Taylor, an American semi-professional basketball player, joined Converse as a salesman.[5] Within a year of Taylor’s arrival, the company had adopted his ideas for improvements to the shoe’s design to enhance its flexibility and ankle support. The restyled shoe also incorporated distinctive All-Star logo on the circular patch that protected the ankle. After Taylor’s signature was added to the ankle patch as his endorsement, they became known as Chuck Taylor All Stars, the first celebrity-endorsed athletic shoe.-wikipedia
