Photographed during a family visit to Hardy, Virginia. Labor Day Weekend 2006. I like the green and warmth in this photo as it is white, cold and gray in Pittsburgh today.

The dog looks like he/she is enjoying the shade. Nice photo.
He is a pleasant and expressive dog. Thanks for stopping by to look at the WPC of peaceful today.
awww….
so sweet.
a peaceful moment that made me smile. thanks for sharing!
PS: thanks for visiting my “peaceful” post this morning. If it is any consolation, I woke up to about 3 cm (more than an inch) of snow as well. Your pic looks like a much warmer place to be than in my back yard, and although I have no plans to visit the bench of my photo, I suspect it is rather wintery there as well 🙂
How nice that we can remind ourselves of sunny days coming by looking at photos of summertimes past. Stay warm!
I am wearing a knitted hat and scarf INSIDE my house. This is the first real cold of the year and it will take some getting used to. We have had SPring like temps. Not to bore you with my weather report. Thanks for your comment on my blog as well.
And yes, I am looking forward to sitting outside in the sunshine before too long. I liked the peaceful theme today.
The little fella looks very peaceful in the shade! 🙂
Yes, he does. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a nice comment. Your icon/gravatar of the radiant sun is a good one this time of year.

Great shot! Looks like a lion keeping watch over the land.
Your likening to a lion keeping watch over the land is a good one. Thanks Kristin. His family liked seeing him on the blog today and didn’t remember the photo so that was fun.
He’s very sensible staying in the shade, lovely photo.
Thanks Gilly. He is a lovely dog with a wonderful disposition and loves his family. He is sensible. You are right.
Finding the cool spot.
What I wouldn’t give to be able to sit in the shade of a tree and enjoy a warm breeze! All in due time …
Yes, you are right, John. And really it has been quite mild up until now. This weather motivates me to make soup.
He looks very content and happy for you to take his picture. Good pick for the challenge.
Francine, you might not believe me but he likes for me to photograph him.I can show you some photos that are so expressive.
He is one patient dog!
This photo is a great choice for the photo challenge. Dear Murphy sitting in the shade on a lovely summer’s day.

There’s something calming and refeshing when I look at the green color. The sceneries together with the dog under a shaded tree are beautiful. A photo that breathes peace. Thank you.
