I was going to post the results of a light snowfall in Ohio where I’m visiting… but then –
my friend Kristin from Florida (and steadfast blog follower) texted a dozen photos today that fascinated me.
Thought you’d enjoy seeing the Ice Hotel in Quebec City. Hotel de Glace.
I’ve never been to an Ice Hotel but I loved the virtual tour via her photos.
I asked if your lips stick to the glass made of ice. You lick it first. Brrrrrrr.
(Maura said it reminded her of Elsa’s Castle in Frozen)
the only bathroom they saw
Looks frigid! Brr! Our son, his now wife, and friends visited the ice hotel in Sweden – when he was living in The Netherlands. They enjoyed the experience!

wow – stairs and a headboard – pretty artsy ice working here!
Cool! Thanks Yvette. Glad you liked apples, too.
🙂
Fabulous. This is on my bucket list!
I know, Ruth. Thanks for looking and writing today.
Amazing photos of a most unusual place! I wonder how cold it is in the Hotel de Glace.
They give you a special bag to sleep in. I can’t even imagine how cold it must be.
Very cool or in this case very cold. I sure would give it a try. I like the lighting and the back lighting give off a sense of warmth. Thinking the glass is made from ice. Is that obvious to everybody except me?
Yes the glass is made of ice. 😀
These photos are so cool! Looks very cold too!
Thank you for sharing, Ruth. 🙂
Beautiful and frigid! I didn’t realize there was an ice hotel in Canada. I just heard about the one in Sweden.
THAT IS BEAUTIFUL!
It’s beautiful and fascinating, but I still don’t want to go!
Not for me thanks, Ruth. I’ll just watch the film. 🙂 🙂
It looks impressive – and a lot like my own personal hell. 😉
Hey, just realized that you ‘live’ everywhere, even often in Manhattan. Why don’t you make a visit on 18th & come to party for Gail’s seventieth birthday? Mary will be there. You are always the life of a party.😍
