Handy Hotel Tip from My Friend Joanne

My friend Joanne travels a lot. She mentioned she takes off a plastic cover from a cup in the hotel room. She slips the remote inside. That way you aren’t touching where a thousand fingers have made their selections on the remote.

I remembered to do it today

Such a good tip Joanne. Thanks

The Big Basket Slated to Become Luxury Hotel – 3 views

Newark, Ohio at sunset.

Sunday November 17th.

I was a passenger while Maura drove my car back to Columbus from Pittsburgh. Getting some good highway driving practice before her driving test. And I can take a few photos from the passenger seat.

Although maplewood Longaberger Baskets went out of business in 2018, the basket building is a beloved icon of architecture.

“Its former corporate headquarters on Ohio’s State Route 16 is a local landmark known as the “Big Basket”.Built to resemble the company’s top-selling product, the “Medium Market Basket”, the seven-story edifice is a well-known example of novelty architecture. “ Wikipedia

This article says the basket building will become a luxury hotel.

Ice Hotel/Hotel de Glace Guest Blog

I was going to post the results of a light snowfall in Ohio where I’m visiting… but then –

my friend Kristin from Florida (and steadfast blog follower) texted a dozen photos today that fascinated me.

Thought you’d enjoy seeing the Ice Hotel in Quebec City. Hotel de Glace.

I’ve never been to an Ice Hotel but I loved the virtual tour via her photos.

I asked if your lips stick to the glass made of ice. You lick it first. Brrrrrrr.

(Maura said it reminded her of Elsa’s Castle in Frozen)

Hotel Pic from Indiana Swim Meet Weekend by Anna

It doesn’t sound good to say “Anna (11) shot her sister Maura (almost 6) while she was sleeping in the hotel.”
But that is exactly what she did-
(And the next time we are together Anna, your ole Grandma is going to help you start your very own blog!)
Your eye sees a lot! Or should I say -Your eyes see a lot! Thanks for sharing.

I love that you saw Maura asleep on the floor and texted the photo to me at 11:52 PM

Hide-and-Seek in the Hotel Room

There are only so many places to hide in a hotel room. Maura was counting while Jack found a spot. Kids never seem to tire of this game.

There is even a Hide-and-Seek page with info about the game on Wikipedia
