Thanks Ruth. We are fortunate to have the local Memorial Day Parade pass in front of our house this year. It will be short but meaningful as we remember those that gave their all for us.
Oh how perfect. A day of remembrance. ❤️
This is a very meaningful post. Memorial Day is more than just picnics and parades.
You are so right, Sue. So much more❤️
For the first time in forever, I did not attend my community Memorial Day parade or program due to cold and rain. So I really appreciate your photos, giving me pause to reflect.
Ruth – Thank you very much for including the link to “Taps – The Bugler’s Cry – The Origin of Sounding Taps.” by Jari Villanueva, a former ceremonial bugler at Arlington National Cemetery. I found it very informative, and I posted it on my Facebook page.
I went to your FB post, Ken. I’m glad you liked it. A poignant cry for sure.
