The Coin Shortage Wasn’t Our Fault

The Coin Shortage wasn’t our Fault But we did our part keeping all these pennies out of circulation. We asked at the bank for the coin roll wrappers. Yes, we have plans to count and wrap them up. Seems a daunting task.

According to this article the coin shortage caused during the pandemic is over.

Now it’s not guessing how many jelly beans in a quart jar but I’m trying to guess the total. There are some other denominations besides pennies. Stay tuned.

Do you have a penny jar? A dish of spare change?

  1. I have a Porky Pig bank. When it gets to heavy I roll the coins. Lately though I don’t use much cash so I don’t get much change so my pig is pretty empty.

  2. Giant Eagle has a change counter at the Edgewood Town Center store I pretty sure it is free when you use it. They give you cash back.

  3. I have two. One for pennies, the other for all others. I use the quarters for lottery tickets, that is not working out well. I used to take the pennies to church as they had a Pennies for Babies box. Not at new church tho. Most of those change counters do take a percentage. Good luck. Wrapping the coins would be a good project for Prema and of course a percentage would be due!!! dc

    • I thought the coin counters charged. Thanks for the info. Do you think we have one of those rare valuable pennies ? Probably not.

  4. We had a huge terrarium bottle filled with pennies that we had for years; we rolled them and had enough to buy our first grandchild his crib.

  5. My son and his girlfriend had an apartment fire. Just weeks before their wedding. Every thing that wasn’t in a closet or drawer was damaged by fire and smoke, but the big bowl
Of coins was not. Eventually I rolled all,of them and it paid for their plane tickets to a new life n Seattle
