Palm Desert Guest Blog

My friend Marianne in on vacation in Palm Desert, California. She sent these beautiful roses.

When she saw them, she said she thought of me. ❤️

Marianne M is guest blogger today.

We need some color to break up the winter gray!

The rose garden on the Walter and Lenore Annenburg estate in Palm Desert. We did the tour today!

A few photos of parts of the estate we were allowed to snap photos.”

  1. My wife and I spent a week in the Palm Springs area in the beginning of May last year. Among many other things, we toured the Walter and Lenore Annenburg estate in Palm Desert, which is spectacular. We also visited two of my cousins who live in Rancho Mirage, along with their spouses. My cousins grew up in Pittsburgh, like I did, and they love the Palm Springs area and the weather. The highlight of our trip was visiting Joshua Tree National Park with its other-worldly trees and rock formations. We were surprised to find out that Joshua Tree National Park is about the size of Rhode Island!

    • Thank you for writing today Ken. It sounds and looks like a wonderful place to visit. Especially as we are in a real cold, snowy, gray winter this year. I’d no idea Joshua Tree was so big. One of my knitting friends knit a National Park hat for that Park from Knitting the National Parks book by Nancy Bates. I’ve not been but would like to go. Good to hear from you.

  2. So nice of you Marianne, to share these beautiful roses. The colors are beautiful as well as the delicate textures.

  3. It must be great to be you Marianne! Great photos, thanks for sharing. Being guest blogger will likely be the highlight of your winter. dc

  4. Thanks for all the comments on the photos I took! I was in Palm Desert in October 2012 after I retired. What a difference in development of homes, shopping and population!! I’ve been invited back by my HS classmate and his wife and I plan to do so!!
The weather was fabulous… poolside and shorts!
