Fire and Ice
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
—Robert Frost

Nicely done, Ruth. Very clever. Of course, including verse from Robert Frost will never fail to catch the eye — and garner the vote — of any resident of the “City of Broad Shoulders.”

I am so impressed by this photo! For the theme – Not only contrasting fire and ice, but contrasting light and dark. But also the quality of the photo itself, it’s just so beautiful I could stare at it for ages.
Another great entry Ruth! Perfect!
And appreciate the pingback!
Nice pic Ruth. Where does the weekly photo challenge come from? Or is it one of your own doing?
Hope you are well
Mark

Very interesting
So long since I had read Frost’s poem – produces chills! And so did your photo- great choices!!!!!
Very beautiful. This to me is worth framing. The image is very sharp, it almost looks real. The addition of the quote is wonderful.
BE ENCOURAGE! BE BLESSED!

I love the concept of fire and ice. Awesome and very creative.
Wow, your photo says so much more than the one word “contrast”.
As for me I’d chose the Ötzi variant and end up frozen in a glacier…
Great post.

What a beautiful contrast you captured dear Ruth, I loved it. Today everything dragging me into the poetry, I remember this famous poem, by Robert Frost,
FIRE and ICE
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
Thank you dear Ruth, with my love, nia
