Jupiter = sky father

Most nights the city skies aren’t clear enough to see the planets but we came back from dinner and it was so bright.
Far away but noticeable.
I’m capturing with just a phone but checked the Sky Guide app to identify it.
How far away from Earth is Jupiter?
Answer : varies due to elliptical orbit according to this article but average is approx 461 million miles. (Reports vary)

I love a clear, bright sky, though it often means it’s cold. We can see Venus and Mars quite often.
A clear bright sky is a wonderful thing. Thanks Jo.
If you say so. Dc
What a great view, you captured it perfectly.
It’s soooo big but looks so small
Even though I wrote about the current “planet parade,” I have yet to step outside shortly after sunset to look for the five visible planets that are in alignment. Thanks for the reminder.
Oh all of them? Bet your skies are clear enough to see them
