You Get 200 Selections on this Machine- Vote Now!

This is from a friend’s birthday party last January.  A Juke Box not a voting machine.  Through the Years.

I thought some of the titles could  be put to good use after the election results are in. Seems everyone has lost their sense of humor these days. Friendships and families, relationships strained.  Every individual is pretty certain they are correct in their thinking and can’t fathom why anyone might feel totally opposite or even a few inches opposite.

Help,  I’m Down, or Chances Are .

and for some it will be Celebration and Big Girls Don’t Cry.

We’ll skip Stormy.

What about This Masquerade?

One thing I am sure of… no matter who wins…. we will be Shake Rattle and Roll into the new year no matter what.  Seriously.  I have heard people from both sides and (in- between) say they can’t wait until it is over.  The ads on TV and all. The robo-calls. The hype. The Self-Applause.  The millions spent. Billions. Could have been put to good use in school libraries. Well, the schools that still have libraries and full time librarians.

What’s going to happen?  What will become of us?    It’s Not For (just)Me to Say!

  1. I vote for “Help” – Count me among those who can’t wait until its over. I don’t care who wins at this point!

  2. A better system for electing our officials seems like “The Impossible Dream” for as long as “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” we won’t be seeing any “Ch..ch..ch..changes” coming anytime soon.

  3. For one fearful moment I thought this was a voting machine and “Help” was definitely my first reaction – I vote today for the first time as a US citizen and I am so excited! Happy voting everyone!

      • Thank you Ruth – it was such an exciting, chaotic experience and now I am worried that they mixed up the stubs etc etc. And still many waiting at 9pm. Hope it all went well in your area and I hear they are now calling Penn for Obama . . .!

  4. “Chances Are” one might be saying “I’m Here Again” and “This Masquerade” may be “Stormy” as we go “Through the Years”. The “Lady” said, “It’s Not for Me to Say” when “I Saw Her Standing There” in the early voting line in “My Hometown”. She said her name was “Mrs. Robinson” and couldn’t wait for this “Stormy” election to be over. All she could say is that the middle class is yelling for “Help” and one candidate will find itself in a big “Celebration” and will be telling the other candidate, “See You Later Alligator” and then we would probably find them sitting on “Dock of the Bay” saying to himself “I’m Down”. [“Self-Applause”]

  5. “Dock of the Bay” was a favorite since I was about 17 – but for this election, I think I’d choose “Johnny B Goode” – we need some GOOD to come out of all this junk! 🙂 Love your sense of humor!!

  6. “The millions spent. Billions. Could have been put to good use in school libraries.” Amen sister! Here’s to focusing on solutions instead of problems. 🙂

Thanks for your visit. It's always good to hear you stopped by.
