Strange!
I was going to say lichen – but the closer version is new to me – the circular shape and can pattern reminds me of a fungus – but will be curious to see what it is!
It’s definitely lichen, I don’t know what type as there are loads. They have a symbiotic relationship with there hosts, lovely stuff.
Thanks Gilly. Symbiotic sounds positive.
Oo-er! 🙂 🙂
Interesting?
So beautiful! 🙂
Green lichen? Though I’m no arborist, that’s what it looks like to me. http://www.lichen.com/biology.html
Seems everyone agrees. Who knew there were so many types? Thanks Stef
My first thought was that there was a fungus among us but then I googled lichen. There are enough images to strongly suggest that this is some sort of lichen. 🙂
Lichen seems to be the consensus and I learned there are many different types. Thanks John
