Sideways- Not the Movie

Dear Blog Readers.  I hope you can help me today.  Computer/blog issues are frustrating as many of you know, but not something anyone really wants to spend time on.  WordPress Happiness Engineers are trying to assist me. The problem is they can’t see what YOU see on your computer or device.

It has come to my attention that some of my photos on the blog posts are showing up sideways, reducing the enjoyment of viewing the photographs for sure.  I’ve been blogging for 9 1/2 years and this issue has  occurred recently it seems.  Have any of you bloggers experienced this problem.

I take photos with a camera and or an iphone and blog from my computer or my phone.  Not sure if the method I use to upload photos is the problem.

I am going to post a few photos and if you would be so good as to let me know if you see them correctly.  Also what device are you viewing them on IF you see them sideways. Thank you.

  1. I am the first one to comment and ALL four of the photos are displaying correctly for me on my computer. Thanks for taking time to look and respond today. I appreciate it. No one enjoys seeing the photos on their sides.

  2. I have been experiencing an ongoing problem with some of the photos appearing sideways on my computer. Today Jack’s photo and the photo of the gingerbread house are both showing sideways on my iMac All-in-One
computer. However, all four photos display correctly on my iPhone and my iPad.

    • Thanks for taking time to respond. This is exasperating as there doesn’t seem as easy solution. Thanks for your patience.

  3. Hi Ruth, they all appear in the right direction for me. Could it be that some people are using other devices such as iPhones etc.?

  4. It seems they look correct on iphones and ipads but a couple of people are seeing the verticals sideways on their computers/. You know I have been blogging for 9 1/2 years/ I just manipulated the image size and that seemed to help.
Thanks for responding Rainee. I appreciate your taking the time.

  5. All these are correct, but most for some time have been sideways. Hope you get if fixed. Linda

  6. They always look correct om our iPad and Samsung Laptop. Children are growing quickly by the way. Love the smiles.

  7. Ruth – I usually view them on my desktop PC, however right now I’m viewing them on my Samsung Galaxy phone, and they all appear in the correct orientation.

  8. Ruth, As all have said….they are in the correct orientation today. I have not experienced the sideways issue on my iPad, iPhone or MacBook Air

  9. Ruth, all pictures have always been oriented correctly on my Android phone, laptop and Kindle. And your grandchildren are adorable!

  10. Today viewing on the Mc Air Book they are oriented as you shot them. Recently there were a few days they were not oriented properly.
    Lovely Grandkids !

    • Thanks Cee. Would you believe one of your nice comments wishing me a happy Thanksgiving was in SPAM. What the heck? I don’t get it. You’ve been a follower and commenter for awhile. I wish you happy days whatever you’re celebrating. Thanks for responding

  11. The previous day’s post with the night photos had many images sideways; but all of the images in this post are displaying properly. I’m on a MacBook Air. using a Safari browser.

  12. These are all the right way round, but the post with Maura’s photos had some wonky ones. I thought perhaps you didn’t know how to change them!
