A Throwback Thursday Post.
My paternal grandmother’s older sisters.
Martha and Sara. Sara was called “Sister”
My grandmother was born in 1892.
I found this postcard in a box. There is no one left to ask for more information about them.
This postcard is a true treasure. Perhaps one day you will be able to find out more about your grandmother’s sisters, Ruth.
What these days might be put in a text is conveyed with 1 cent over who knows how many days to an address that is only a person in a town. Beautiful photo. Nice that the girls are IDed.
I always wondered why no one smiled back then.
They are beautiful.
What a gorgeous vintage postcard!
I was wondering why people didn’t smile in photos back then and though it was because it took so long to capture the photo … here’s some info I found https://time.com/4568032/smile-serious-old-photos/
A mystery to solve. What sweet little girls.
alas, not my thread of family: Charlotte Rowley’s sisters were Mae, Cecile, Edna
A lovely pic.
