Who knew that the LifeProof waterproof iPhone case would create the blurriest phone photos due to the plastic cover over the camera lenses?
Everyone but me!
That’s right. It’s a thing. All over the Internet, reviews tell of this problem . The plastic cover on the phone back over the lenses gets all scratched and cannot be clear. Even if you are wiping with a microcloth meant for the task
There was one solution to the problem.
Remove it! The phone case is no longer leakproof, waterproof but I take phone photos in focus.
Here’s what I’m talking about

Ruth – I love this post, and I strongly agree with you. I’m just an amateur photographer, but I can’t even begin to tell you how much it bothers me when one of my photos is blurry. Aaaarrrggghhh!!!! So I think it’s important to have a case for any cell phone, but it doesn’t have to be waterproof. I would forget about the waterproof feature, and just get a case that would protect the phone if I drop it. After all, how often do you drop your phone into water? Or maybe I shouldn’t ask! 🙂
Good to know!
Seems like your case had a hard life; probably due for retirement anyway. (Yikes!)
The case is Six months old
Only 6 months? Wowzers; your phone must get put through the paces…
That is quite a difference. Glad you found out and shared the info. I wouldn’t have known either.
Great info and comparison in the difference between photos.
Ah, well done! Those blurry photos must have been annoying!
