Mazeroski Day in Pittsburgh

Bill Mazeroski made baseball history October 13, 1960. My dad was at that game.

Here’s an article by Lauren Davidson about Bill Mazeroski hitting the homerun that made the Pittsburgh Pirates win the World Series.

October 13th is known as Bill Mazeroski Day in Pittsburgh.

  1. I once had thee opportunity to meet his son and told him if the many happy moments he gave me! My all time me fav!

  2. My mother and father were at that game – wow! Tickets for the series were by lottary and when she found that theirs were for the last game, she figured they would never see any game, but it turned out to be the game of the decade.

  3. Oh, I remember that day. My dad was a Pirates fan. Even though he wasn’t at that game, he listened to it on the radio and we all whooped and hollered when Maz hit that home run! I was just a child, but I remember it well. 🙂
