A fondue pot.
I was thinking throwback and they were definitely popular in the seventies but….
turns out Fondue pots are still sold in kitchen stores and online and there are even electric models.
You might have one on a dusty shelf or in the basement. Or in current use.
There’s a fondue restaurant Melting Pot in Pitttsburgh.
Here’s a cheese fondue recipe
Here’s a chocolate fondue recipe
No double dipping! there are Rules of Fondue

Does this make you want to fondue?
Our pot was a wedding gift, 51 years ago. It hasn’t been used in many years, until Aldi’s started selling cheese fondue, you cut open and use. I began to serve it for guests who often had traveled many hours and arrived mid day, serving the fondue with fresh veggies and mini meatballs. Our guests loved it, several saying they were going to find their pots! Only problem, Aldi’s hasn’t had that wonderful cheese fondue in almost a year!
Guess I’ll be trying your recipe for future guests!
Thanks for your good comment today, Deb. Lucky guests!
I made cheese fondue once without the aid of a fondue maker. It was delicious but settled in one’s stomach like a stone. Hence, I’ve never been tempted to buy a fondue maker.
Not with that result, oh my. Thanks Sheree.
I think fondue is coming back.
I thought it was throwback but I think you’re right, Sue.
Fondue is FUN 🫕 Yes I do have a pot used occasionally gcr
Fondue parties were so much fun. I held many of them and sold fondue pots in my kitchen stores. They were very popular.
I think they are coming back!
I still have mine. I use it to occasionally deep fry fish. No fondue for decades.
I only ever used a fondue pot when we learned to “do” fondue in home economics class during the early 70s.
