After 153 years in business, McCabe Brothers had to cease operations. (Article) and now the Shadyside building on Walnut Street, has been demolished.
I was surprised at school pick up Friday afternoon that McCabe Brothers Funeral Home was totally demolished.
Any idea what is going to be built there? dc
No idea but I’ll see what develops.

My husband said, that there has been a fight about the property for the last couple of years with the neighbors about what will be put there.
I’m sure there are disputes.

It hurts my heart to see grand old buildings like that come down, just so some developer can squeeze a dozen units in there. Greed.
I hope some of the interior was salvaged because it looks like it might have had wood or doors are something worth saving.
