When I think of our Vets, I’m always grateful and I think of America—home of the free, because of the brave. Whoever first said that, hit the nail on the head. If you or a family member is a Vet, thank you for your sacrifices.
I think of my dad and my brother, both fought in wars to keep our country free. Staff Sgt Martin H Cooper, WWII, Atlantic Theater, Radio Intercept officer. Specialist 5th class Michael M Cooper, Vietnam War, photojournalist.

Regarding veterans, neither the passage of time nor the comforts of peace should drive away the memory and meaning of their sacrifice.
We owe our veterans so much, Ruth. Look around and imagine what would remain had they not served. Very little, I would think.
A very sobering image. I said “thank you” to the various veterans in my life; but “thank you” is hardly sufficient. I am amazed, humbled, and deeply grateful for all of the sacrifice the men and women in our military past, present, and future make to ensure our society’s safety and security.
