Uncle Frank’s Low Rider 1963 Impala

Uncle Frank gets a lot of satisfaction  from restoring vintage cars,

He is a grand master of restoration.

  1. Awesome rides! I’ve always been a gearhead! My grandfather had a few beauts back in the day. A 1931 model T and a 1929 model A. They are so much fun to drive around in. I called the OOOGA cars, because of the horn. 😉
When I was a kid, dad had a 1963 Impala. We used to slide down the back window/trunk when we had the chore of washing it. Hope Frank doesn’t gasp when he hears that 😉

  3. Always love the family photos. I also love classic cars and the memories they evoke. In 1958 I was about 10 when my cousin who was 16 bought a 1948 Chevy. On Sundays, after Mass, we would ride on the red dog country roads and he would let me drive it. There are many more memories including drag racing on the two lane roads. My interest in older vehicles including motorcycles started at that time. If you get a chance read about a movie entitled Two Lane Blacktop. It stars James Taylor, believe it or not, and Warren Oates and has my favorite, a 1955 Chevy in it. It is a B movie. It will give you an idea about drag racing on the road. I envy Uncle Frank’s skill and appreciate his passion and patience for these projects. I believe his new acqusition is a 1956 Chevy…maybe a 55.

  4. Great Car! I’m a secret petrol-head myself (you wouldn’t expect it from a crochet/knitter i know!) we have a few cars that we are slowly working on “doing-up”. I’d love too buy a lovely big American Car but I don’t think they fit UK roads so well!! 🙂
