We Give It a Thumbs Down

We bought Dos by Mattel because we enjoy playing UNO. We watched a YouTube video and spoke with the other grandma, Marlene who knows how to play. We shuffled, dealt and gave it our best shot. Ugh.

One of the comments on the video was how do I get the cards back into the box?

My thoughts exactly.

Back to our tried and true UNO.

  1. I would suggest you teach them to play 500 with a regular deck of cards. Aidan loves playing 500 and Melissa loved it when she was growing up too.

  2. UNO is a favorite of ours. Haven’t played in awhile. We love YAHTZEE. We think it is a great family game. Also, SCATTERGORIES. Not sure about the spellings. Mainly have fun and laugh a lot. That is what counts.

  3. What are the main differences between Uno and Dos?

Right now we are about to embark on Candyland and Chutes and Ladders. Wish us luck! 🙂

    • Those are great starts. Classic. Charlie plays UNO and Laura got him really great wooden card holders. Uno has a single discard pile for play. Simple to put a matching color or number. DOS you have two discard piles and instead of putting down a five on a five you put down a three and a two or a four and a one. It just wasn’t fun for us.
