Tips for buying and ripening Bartlett pears in this CBS news video you don’t want them to get mushy.
Pears. Do you like them cooked or raw?

I cook them for my OH. He particularly likes them poached in spiced red wine
That sounds like the perfect method and when they cook I bet the house smells delicious, too.
Does indeed
I love pears, raw and cooked. I make a great pear and saffron cake, yum.
Oh I hope I get to see a photo sometime.
Love them. My favorite way to use them is thinly sliced on a ‘white’ pizza: sharp cheeses on a plain crust, covered with thinly sliced pears and a sprinkling of slice red almonds.
Love them raw
They are so good.
I would have never thought of that way of using pears but it sounds mouth watering delicious.
Love the pear pizza idea
I love pears!
Me, too.
I’m not a fan of pears in general (texture) but Hesh’s favorite is Bartlett.
They seem especially good this year. Hesh will be pleased.
I just bought some. I put them in a bag to ripen.
Good plan!
When I was visiting my daughter last week, the refrigerator was so full of pears from their two trees. She had juiced some and made frozen pops for the little ones.
Yum! I mostly eat pears raw, but do enjoy them cooked! (But usually someone has to cook them for me, as it’s too much of a hassle for me to do it myself.) 😀
I love pears both ways!
