Mt. Vernon Photo Find

I was sifting through old photographs on one of the snow days. You know those awful albums with the adhesive on the pages to stick the photos to the page?

Found this shot I took (film) of my son Mark (he’ll be 38 in May) and noticed the random dad taking a family photograph.

P.S. Update of post
Mark saw the photo of himself and emailed this photo that he took of his kids at Mt. Vernon just this past year

  1. Lovely memories and funny what you do see in some of the old photo’s. Great post and thanks for sharing Ruth. πŸ˜€ *hugs*

  2. It took a while to teach my own children that one is never too young to learn about history.

  3. I love the compare-and-contrast from the 1980s photo to the 2010s ones. I’m 38 as well, and I fondly remember looking through those photo albums with the black pages and the pictures taped to them. Good times.

I’m thrilled that I inspired you to create knitting blog! I’m excited to follow it. πŸ™‚

  4. Love it! I have 27 photo albums from my 20’s until the digital age began for me in 2005. Nothing could ever replace them and I think I will take a gander, sticky tape and everything ! It was great when the plastic sleeves finally came out !

  5. How cool that the photos are from similar point of view. I wonder if you noticed that man taking the photo of his family many years ago when you took the photo?

      • I am very flattered Ruth, thank you so much! I would love to hear how they enjoyed it. We had some recently with a cheese plate and it was very tasty.

Thanks for your visit. It's always good to hear you stopped by.
