Juxtaposition. I read the definition twice.
Michelle W. at the Daily Post says Unexpected Pairings.
Looked through the archives and found these for the gallery. It did mention “abstract” and I think mine are more “concrete”
Pittsburgh Marathon -Walk and Sit
wood branch in chain link fence
One orange amidst the others Smith Mountain Lake Virginia
Old boat and pirates, new boats and boaters
New York City Garbage
St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Scaffolding
Lego world- real world Rockefeller Center New York City
Ok a bit of a stretch but when I was scrolling through, George caught my eye
Splint and leg
Anna and the sock monkey
Thought the weekly photo challenge was exactly that- a CHALLENGE
The sparkle across the water surrounding the pirates is . . . awesome.
Thanks Shuey
That first pic really made me smile, as did the ‘sock monkey’ one and the ‘splint and leg’. 😀 Great pics for the challenge, Ruth.
Loved the Lego and Rockefeller worlds. Lots were great pairings.
Great selection, Ruth. Loved this series.
Wonderful photos! Enjoyed all of them.. 🙂

I think you handled the challenge well.
Great examples, my personal favorite is the first one.
Thanks. Yes that first one is unexpected. 🙂

You nailed it, Ruth! Tthe first one is my favorite 🙂
Thanks Amy. I like had first one too. Thought it was a hard challenge, though
Theses are all great, but the top two are my favorites!
I like your first image – I found cool juxtaposition in young and old, summer clothing vs. bundled in blankets, watching people watch their electronics… lots of juxtaposition in that image! 🙂

soooooo great – I enjoyed them all – and the one that grabbed me most (at least upon first scroll) was the NYC trash – with the healthy food bag in the trash like that . 🙂
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a nice comment. I love to photograph trash but not sure why
