The Swing
How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
Ever a child can do!
Up in the air and over the wall,
Till I can see so wide,
River and trees and cattle and all
Over the countryside–
Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown–
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!

A beautiful capture, Ruth, and the poem is the perfect accompaniment. That is one happy little girl!
great shots – great poem and nice title. I wish I had more photos of my kids on the swing, but sadly I don’t. 🙂
Excellent picture, great poem and what a beautiful smile.
Even now as an adult, I enjoy the brush of air on my face as I move on the swing.
Sound like poetry to me, Colline!
BEAUTIFUL PHOTO! The joy of living in the smiles pf a child.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Beautiful – both in words and photograph
Fun!
AT 40+ & I still always head for the swings when I take the kids to the park. I can’t help myself. 🙂
Swinging was (and probably still is) my favorite feeling in the world. (Spinning is a close second.) But I never wanted to jump – I liked the feeling of flying too much.
P.S. Great poem! That was a new one to me.
Hell it’s pleasant for adults too! I love the swing set!
