Photographing People Photographing People Can Be Boring

but I like this picture.  A lot.  It makes me happy.

A man capturing his family group on the benches at Central Park Zoo. I’d just come out of the Penguins.

To me, he looks like a conductor of an orchestra, feeling joy as he views the image of those whom he loves.

selfie stick girls

I asked these girls if they would pose with their selfie stick so I could show my high school students in photography class next week.  Later I asked where they were from….. Long Island!

..the pleasantest thing ever a child can do!

The Swing

How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
Ever a child can do!

Up in the air and over the wall,
Till I can see so wide,
River and trees and cattle and all
Over the countryside–

Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown–
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!

It wasn’t that long ago  (201o) that it was her sister Anna on the blog

We’re Talking Trash Now

Shot while walking down Fifth Avenue in NYC  with my sister when I was on Spring Break.  Waiting for pick-up.

I didn’t count them but it was definitely eye catching.
