I went to college in Wheeling, West Virginia which is near the top of the Ohio Valley. Poor little, depressed town. From what I hear, it’s actually gotten worse than when I was there in the early Eighties.
Go Michael !!! It is a tough sport. Read “The Boys in the Boat” to get a feel for the challenges of crew.
At that view, to me the boats look like little bugs skipping across the water. That image makes me smile.
