Apple pie with a slice of sharp cheddar cheese?
Yes or no?
Here’s an article about this polarizing combination
Most popular in New England these days. Not in the South
“Cheese, specifically sharp cheddar, has been served with apple pie in the U.S. as early as the 1800s. But the combination was likely born in England in the 17th century; a tradition of using dairy-based sauces in pies evolved into an affinity for topping pie with cheese instead”
Perhaps you’re an a la mode pie eater with a warm slice and vanilla ice cream.
Or an abstainer.

No cheese with my pie please. First choice is just the pie but once in a while a scoop of vanilla ice cream is good. dc
Apples and cheddar cheese are such a great combo so why not with apple pie.
Thanks Darlene. 😀
Sounds risky, but I’ll bite (literally!) – two of my favourite things!

Seems a preferred taste for many.
My grandmother always had cheddar cheese with apple pie. Her parents came over from England. Cheese with pie not so much for me.
Rob, You are the pie authority to me.
That’s a bit like cheese with membrillo!
You’re exactly right!
I like apple pie with more apple pie 🍎 gcr
I like your thinking.
No cheese for me, but that was my dad’s favorite way to enjoy apple pie. His roots were PA Dutch.
Yes definitely with sharp Cheddar!
I’ve never tried this combo. But I would…if I had a slice of apple pie.
Just pie for me. With a glass of almond milk and a coffee chaser. 🙂
