Thanks to my good friend and fruitcake baker Linda, along with her trusted team of one-Eileen! It’s fruitcake season. Here’s documentation of the unwrapping.
Former fruitcakes can be viewed here
I was waiting to reveal it until my sister arrived.
It’s the best fruitcake, ever!
Takes three days to make. Months ago. Wrapped in muslin, soaked in spirits I’ve taken it from the vintage tin where I’d stored it in the pantry until Mary could share in the slicing and eating.

Looks fabulous
Delicious.
Looks delicious!
I didn’t realize how much time and effort went into fruitcake baking.
A serious baking endeavor.
I love fruitcake. Use to make it long ago but now I just settle for Claxton Fruitcake.
It looks lovely. Unfortunately I don’t care for fruit cake, but appreciate the effort and time it takes to make. Enjoy!
That looks fantastic!
Reminds me of a story where two brothers traded the same fruitcake back and forth for decades. Every Christmas, one would give it back to the other. The theme being that nobody likes fruitcake!
I like it fine though …
I bought a Mrs Smith’s Apple pie I’ll bake tomorrow for Christmas. That is the extent of my baking patience. If I drop a slice on my foot at least I won’t break a toe like I would dropping a slice of fruitcake! Dc
I have a recipe for a white fruit cake It’ English ! Your cake looks yummy!
Oh that sounds good
My mom LOVED fruitcake. Me? Nope. Enjoy sharing this with Mary.
