Our winter days in Pittsburgh are mostly cold and gray with spots of infrequent sun.

Tulips just always make me happy!!
I agree. Do you have a favorite color?
Not really. I love them all. I visited Keukenhof Gardens in Holland and there was every colour imaginable.
Perfect for a cloudy winter day.
Definitely helps brighten the mood!
Detective Charlie looked at Vincie with amazement while watching the Apple Bag Tag do its job. Right on her phone he could see where the black van was heading. He immediately called dispatch and State Police were advised of the coordinates of the vehicle along with its description they obtained from the bank teller. Local police were sent to exits in the current location, changing position as the kidnappers continued to drive north.
Detective Charlie started walking to his squad car and since Vincie was now an integral part of this investigation he asked her if she wanted to tag along. To herself she thought, “Does Howdy Doody have a wooden pee pee?” but she answered “Of course.” Charlie made her promise to stay in the vehicle which she did but unheard by Charlie was an “I’ll try.”
They left the crime scene heading for the interstate. Detective Charlie had to swerve around a Subaru Outback that was parked haphazardly next to a curb. The driver’s door was opened and a woman in a woolen cap and matching scarf was reaching over the roof of her car taking a picture of a ratty old couch left on the curb. As they drove past Vincie noticed the woman was wearing a pair of gloves identical to the pair Emmaline had dropped in the parking lot.
Sitting on the console of the police cruiser was a white paper bag. Vincie asked what was in the bag and Charlie told her it was supposed to be his breakfast but he never got to it. He told Vincie to help herself. Vincie opened the bag and saw what looked like several small canoes filled with jelly. “What are they?” she asked. Charlie told her they were Split Second cookies and explained that it only took a split second to realize they were the most delicious cookies of all time. Vincie removed a cookie and gave it a closer look no doubt making sure that there were no mushroom surprises. Once assured she took a tentative bite and made the universal sound for OMG. Charlie smiled and told her to have another but Vincie said, “No thanks. I’ll save the rest for Emmaline.” dc
Beautiful flowers, great way to brighten any day.
My friend has Amaryllis blooming, too.
I have the amaryllis blooming beautifully in my living room. They were a gift from my cousin and they brighten my home on these gray winter days.
However, as much as I’m enjoying the daily blog posts, I’m enjoying the ongoing story written by dc each day.
I can’t wait till they find Emmaline.
I’ll add your amaryllis to the post. It’s beautiful
What a bright spot in winter!
Got to take that color wherever we can get it since we’re covered in white and skies are gray.
It definitely helps me think SPRING!
I love all of these pops of color & vibrancy!
We need some color about now. The gray is intense.
