Wednesday my sister and were walking to Grand Central Terminal Market to purchase LiLac chocolate as a hostess gift. We were headed to dinner at our cousin’s. Here’s the Daily News Building built in 1929 in the Art Deco style. Here’s the giant rotating globe in the lobby. Two photos of Christopher Reeve from filming the Superman movies are shown below.

Just Past Midnight- Columbus Ohio
My son Mark drove me and my sister downtown so Mary could catch a 1:10 AM bus to DC to visit some friends. We’ve had a nice couple of weeks together, first in New York City and then with the family in Columbus.
After we dropped her at the Greyhound station, he drove me around the downtown area so I could get a few nighttime shots of the city. The Ohio Statehouse- just a bit of it as I shot it from the car window. Had the 70-200mm Canon L series lens on the camera. I should have gotten out of the car but we were on our way to take Mary. I had envisioned flags flying as they had been the last time we drove by in the daytime, but not even a breeze.

Snippet of City Skyline
A rainy day. Columbus Ohio. Shot through glass, across the Scioto river from COSI (Center of Science and Industry) A tad underexposed for the trees looking at it now.
The Art Deco building on the left in LeVeque Tower, a half foot taller than Washington Monument. Detail of tower below.
A different city skyline from my usual Pittsburgh photographs.
Dunkle’s Gulf Station-Bedford, PA
This Gulf Station has been photographed thousands of times, but I was a tourist in Bedford, PA this past weekend and I joined the throngs and snapped a picture even though there was no blue sky or inhabitants. What I would have liked to photograph is Mr. Dunkle if he is available, have a conversation. Next trip. If you want to see other photos of the same spot check out this site
Art Deco Rivoli Theatre in Cedarburg Wisconsin
Driving past woolen mills, resale shops, an independent bookstore, saw this “white/black Art Deco Vitrolite facade” on Washington Avenue. Fully restored just two years ago as it turns out. A perfect summer afternoon.
