Snowflakes on a Wrought Iron Railing

The wrought iron railing on my steps going into my house, captured snowflakes when it was snowing lightly this morning. It was so cold they froze right on the metal. No two snowflakes are alike.

A famous snowflake photographer from Jericho, Vermont was Wilson A. Bentley. (link to a book of Wilson A. Bentley’s amazing snowflake photographs)

For over forty years, Wilson “Snowflake” Bentley (1865–1931) photographed thousands of individual snowflakes and perfected the innovative photomicrographic techniques” Smithsonian

Here is a terrific book for children, a 1999 Caldecott winner.

Infinity, Lost

Infinity, lost.

An infinity scarf. No beginning. No end. Have you knit one?

Found in Pittsburgh’s Strip District on top of a recycle can, as I parked Friday morning.

Penn Avenue.

Headed for La Prima Espresso for a delicious start to the day.

I didn’t touch it to determine if it was hand knit or determine fiber content but I felt sad when I saw it. The snow flakes caught on the stitches.

Usually you find a lone glove.

Samson and the Snowflakes

Guest Blogger Kim Teeple (my daughter’s sister-in-law) got a new DSLR camera.

She posted this photograph on her Facebook page and her brother James (my son-in-law) thought it would be a perfect guest blog.  I agree.

“Our 9 year old Husky mix, Samson, loves the snow. I captured him with my new Canon Rebel T6 at a rare moment when he decided to stay in one spot. It was a cold snowy day in early January, 2018 at our home in Mansfield, Ohio. For 2018, my husband, Jeff, and I resolved to learn photography for our future of traveling North America in our KZ Venom Fifth Wheel. . Follow along on our travels at TeeplesTravel.com to watch our budding skills improve.”
