What I discovered is I shoot a lot of red.
I blurred my eyes to spot purple in the archives.
Yes, I made the rainbow jello to photograph. It took 5 hours. I got the recipe from my daughter Laura who found it on the web here
The one pictured is not spiked and no one ate it either. It is still in my freezer to slice and photograph with light coming through the jello like stained glass.
Purple views, white balance setting askew but it works for the challenge.
A compendium of purple.
Fellow bloggers links are at the Daily Post at WordPress. (Thanks to Jo I know how to get on the list now.)
and the cake is by Aubrey’s Bakery in Steubenville Ohio for Justin and Vicky’s wedding
WOW! I think all your photos are perfect for the challenge. The jello is a masterpiece it goes well with the beautiful cake. Love what you did with the city landscape giving it that majestic glow.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
These are some gorgeous purples all right! At first, I only saw the jello. WOW. You hit a home run here, I think. 🙂
Love that picture of the jelly but I like all your pictures though. It’s a smart idea with the garlic and the red onions!
Wow … 5 hrs just to photograph purple, you are awesome! I love, love, love purple garlic and thanks for reminding me to add it to the shopping list for today! 🙂
Beautiful post! Gorgeous purple!

What an amazing jelly! Beautiful colours. 🙂
A fabulous post!!!!
It’s a cracking example of your culinary skills Ruth let alone the photography bit! “You are a GD Genius Gump!”
:-0)
Fabulous photos and great in the kitchen too – ?
You definitely met the challenge.
The city scape is my favorite; but the jello is such an awesome color combination- wow!
Very nice pics….Hats off 🙂
Great selection, the jelly & garlic photos are special. The layered jelly takes a long time to set, well done. Cover with ice-cream and it should disappear quickly.
Very unique pictures to portray the color purple……I’m a follower : ) Really would hate to eat that jello masterpiece.
Purple garlic – I forgot that I had it in my pantry – until I saw your purple garlic 🙂 I love the view of the city by night.
The Jello is very impressive, and the wedding cake is beautiful! But I think my favorite pic is the onions/shallots. I adore nature, and repetition. 🙂
Ruth, Even at Ft. Knox 30-some years ago, you were a great cook! I absolutely LOVE the jello and all the rainbow colors. I also enjoyed seeing the pictures of your grandchildren. I bet they all love purple!
What patience you had in assembling that jell-o rainbow! Wow! All beautiful shots!
The jello is wonderful 🙂
busting with purple! beautiful shots.
The picture of the jelly and city scape are my favorite. Amazing!
Thanks for stopping by and commenting! I meant to add earlier that the jello gave me the giggles! Talk about happy food. And the cake was amazing!
So many great photos here – the jello, and the night shot, the cake, the garlic… well done!
WOW! All excellent … I cannot decide on a favorite. (I wonder if I have purple in my library.)
fab photos but the jello is excellent!!!
Wow, that is quite the creation. You do shoot a lot of red come to think of it. But it’s a great color and pretty dominant. I like this series.
Fabulous shots all Ruth! But… why was the rainbow jello not consumed? It looks pretty good to me. 🙂
I think you covered the purple spectrum! Great photos.
