I ordered a piece of New York Cheesecake when I visited my sister in NYC. ย With the fresh fruit on top. A generous amount that contrasted nicely with it.
There is no crust.
I thought it tasted really good and had a smooth texture, satisfying and rich but not too rich or sweet.
Mary said when she took a spoonful, ย it felt like she was biting into a block of cream cheese.
Her pastry looked delicious, filled with ricotta.
Here is the piece I ordered and ate, almost to the last bite.
Just wondering how you feel about cheesecake?
My sister-in-law Bobbie has a great recipe I have baked for parties over the years and guests devour it.
That is, if they like cheesecake.
Beautiful photograph, Ruth. Love cheesecake but I can feel my arteries snapping shut just looking at this yummy thing. Yikes! ๐
I’ve a recipe for New York style cheesecake that I’ve yet to blog, Ruth, and like yours, there is no crust. That piece you were served looks every bit as good as mine, if not better. I know you enjoyed it. I certainly would have. ๐
Irresistible!
It looks so appetizing. And the fruit almost makes it look healthy. I would have eaten the whole thing!
Cheesecake is a family favorite at our house. That piece looks delicious!
Love, love, love cheesecake. It reminds of when I was a kid and my grandma would take my brother and I for an overnight visit and she’d say “let’s be fancy and order cheesecake.” So, there’s nostalgia in it for me.
Delicious…. in moderation! We have our “Cherry Delight” for Christmas every year. Our version of cheesecake with a thin crust of graham crackers, cheery pie filling, and Cool Whip! Very Midwest I must say.
My mother always said that your homemade cheesecake was the best she’d ever eaten.
So yummy! That would go down so well, right now for breakfast. ๐
I love a good baked cheesecake; i remember goimg to NYC when I was 18 with my university and we stopped in at Lindy’s.
cheesecake? yes please. yours looks so yummy & colourful.
i especially like it if served with fruit. last week i went to a Christmas lunch from work, and one of the dessert option was blueberry cheesecake. and yes, i had some. ๐
cheese = source of calcium; fruit = source of vitamins. what a healthy dessert ๐
well I am very picky about cheesecake – and actually never can be certain until I try it – ๐ –
but Ruth, I real liked your quick review cos it seems comprehensive but short – if that makes sense. A nice food review does not have to be a major critique that we have to bookmark and hope to come back to – but with the image, detail of no crust, Mary’s description, etc. – well u actually gave us a nice feel for it ( I guess I noted this cos I want to work on giving some better food descriptions – and not just the meat was meaty and fresh lol)
have a nice day
๐๐
oh – and my fav – I prefer crust and also like it to be not mushy
I *adore* vegan cheesecake – but I do like it with a little crust. (Not a lot, just a little.)
I LOVE cheesecake! (With a graham cracker crust.)
Thanks Naomi. The only problem with looking at the cheesecake photo is that your mind starts thinking you want a piece!
