Variations on a theme is the weekly Photo Challenge by Ben H.
I’m not in NYC today but at Thanksgiving, I shot a lot of views of the Chrysler Building. Here are eight of them.
Architect William Van Alen. Completed in 1930.

Ruth – Excellent photos with the shadows and lighting, etc. You wrote that it was completed in 1930. After 88 years, it is still a magnificent edifice. Timeless.
These are beautiful shots, Ruth! 🙂 🙂 What a sky!
I love the Chrysler building. It’s so beautiful and it’s such a symbol of New York. Your photos do it proud.
Very nice Ruth. I have never seen this building except in many movies set in New York 😊
Wonderful photos!
Beautiful pictures of a beautiful building with a great history.
One of my very favorite NYC landmarks Ruth – well captured!!

Well captured – and a bird as well!
Awww thanks for noticing that bird!
😊
Oh what beautiful photos of the building my father worked in! His company was the third tennant, 3rd floor, 1930 as you say. I LOVED to go into the City with Mom and visit him there; the switchboard operator let me help her! ….. of course I did not know how famous the Chrysler Bldg. was then! Going to save these!!!
I’d love to see it, mine is a very low rise city so I really enjoy cities with tall buildings.
Interesting how perspective can change everything (literally and figuratively).
You are exactly right, Stef.
