As we approached, an abandoned recliner appeared out of the mist, empty except for an untouched fruitcake, a bag of Brussels sprouts and what appeared to be white strawberries. The chair sat at the side of the road. It suddenly reclined for no apparent reason just as the lights on the Hendricks House began to flicker…….dc
